Every year, around this time, after having paid the post Christmas credit card bills, I also take a moment to re-evaluate my “shopaholic” budget. Believe it or not, I do actually set money aside so that I can indulge in my love for clothing and shoes. Especially the shoes…

This year, seeing as I have gone slightly overboard on this habit of mine, I have decided to give myself a challenge in order to make sure that I save more for my spring and fall purchase habits.

My challenge is to not make any UNNECESSARY purchases of clothes and shoes from now, until March 14th 2017.

This is not a New Year’s resolution, but I am putting it in writing so that I can hold myself accountable if I am thinking of slipping!

In the meantime, I get to enjoy all of the goodies I bought for boxing day as they arrive in the mail, one by one.

I also get the fun task of being creative with the clothes that I have!

Sometimes we get into the habit of being lazy or comfortable, and as a result, we wear the same outfits over and over, until we buy something new.

My challenge will indirectly force me to be more creative, and to have a little bit of fun by mixing and matching pieces that I would not have put together before.

What about you? Have you set any goals for 2017?

Let me know!
