A trend that has recently been back from the 90’s, and that I never thought I would sport again is the Spice Girl era “Flatform”.
Now, to be honest, being 30+ years old, I did hesitate for a bit as I did have a worry that I would look a little…”retro” and maybe a bit Frankenstein like. Nonetheless, I decided to give the trend a second spin, as you only live once.
Seeing as it has been a pretty rainy, snowy and a difficult week to deal with weather wise, I decided that this Friday is the ultimate Casual Friday and paired my patent flatforms with a pair of black skinny Dynamite Clothing jeans and an Aritzia blue/grey blouse for the ultimate level of comfort.
I am the type of woman who was pretty much born in high heels, and wearing these super comfy shoes did not feel quite like me. I loved the height but I must admit that I felt like my feet were enormous, almost clown like.
This shirt, on the other hand, was the most comfortable blouse I have worn in a very long time. It kept me warm without the need for a sweater on top, in addition to the color being gorgeous and the fit being AMAZING.
As for the jeans, Dynamite Clothing has been my go to jean brand lately as my curves seem to have a lot of trouble finding other pairs that fit me well.
Although the shoes may have not necessarily been my thing on the first get go, I am willing to keep trying to sport them every once in a while as sometimes it takes a bit of getting used to change before you start liking it.
If you’ve been on the hunt for a pair and are unsure, I definitely suggest giving them a try, maybe at a less expensive price than the designer brands out there, like I did. Public desire has a few and so does l’Intervalle and many other low to medium end brands do to.
Let me know your thoughts and how you feel about your own pair!
Have a great snowy weekend ahead!
