For those of you who follow trends, you may be aware that this one is not a new one. Exposed shoulders have been around for quite a long time now, and for a good reason: the trend is feminine, classy and EVERYONE can pull it off!

Now, when I originally started to plan for this post, I had wanted to combine the exposed shoulder and cold shoulder looks into 1 article. Then I started to actually pull the looks…

Based on the amount of content I had for both options, I decided that it was best to split this topic into 2 sections, so today, I’m going to give you a few outfit ideas and options that are solely based on one version of the trend. This just means that if you do want to see more, you will have to stay tuned for next week’s post! 😉

For now, let’s get the exposed shoulder outfit options out to you:

One of my favorite looks for over the last 2 years has been a combination of a black exposed shoulder top with a blue lace skirt.

The look is classy and perfect for a date night out, as the Dynamite Clothing top is fitted enough to slip into the Sabo Skirt lace skirt, to give your body some elongated proportion, regardless of how short, or tall you are.

The slit in front gives some leg exposure, and makes the skirt very easy to navigate in, without exposing anything that you would want to keep private. Although it is sheer throughout most of the length, it comes with a mini skirt built in for obvious reasons.

To complete the look, I also threw on a pair of beautiful black Aldo high heels that add height and even more class to the look.

If you’re night out on the town is happening, but won’t be so fancy, you can easily throw on an off the shoulder dress instead.

This Zara dress is slightly modified from last year’s version, as there is an elasticated band inserted in the chest area for a snug fit. They also added bell sleeves to keep you warm on those chilly summer nights, which is practical if you really don’t feel like dragging a sweater around everytime you go out.

By throwing on a pair of black Aldo strappy high heels, I made this casual dress more of a night appropriate outfit, with minimal effort of course!

Another outfit option that would be perfect for a less fancy night on the town, would consist of some polka dots and tassels.

If any of you follow the blogger Lovely Pepa, you are aware that she has recently started her own clothing collection. One of the first pieces that she started selling in her selection is this skirt, which I fell in love with the moment I saw it online. It is lightweight, which is perfect for summer, and the tassels add so much character to it.

To style this look, I chose to pair it with a polka dot, off the shoulder bodysuit that I found during the Zara sale, and a pair of Aldo strappy Block heels to complete the look.

Although my looks so far have been focused around nights out, these tops can easily be combined with a casual skirt or a pair of shorts, to be made into more comfortable daily outfits, such as the next look.

I found this long sleeved, black, off the shoulder top at H&M many years ago, and have lived in it quite regularly.

By combining the top with a pair of linen blue shorts that I found at Aritzia, I was able to dress the look down enough for a sunday night Fam Jam.

Obviously, if you know me, you know I live in heels, so the alternative of opting for flats does not come regularly to me, but in this situation, my Aldo black heels can easily be replaced with a pair of slip ons instead, for an ultra casual look.

Finally, for the last outfit, I found a very cute, and very yellow off the shoulder top with lace details on the sleeves at Zara last summer.

Seeing as my midriff is not ready to be exposed, I opted to pair the slightly cropped top with a very high waisted pair of black shorts from H&M to be able to avoid having any skin exposed.

As you may recognize the shoes from my previous images today, you already may know that these are from Aldo.

The advantage of having outfits made of separates is that they are easily interchangeable amongst the pieces you have in your wardrobe. As a result, one top can be combines with multiple different bottom options to achieve different looks.

I hope you enjoyed this week’s post as much as I enjoyed curating the outfits!

Hopefully, this week will pass by quickly for all so that we can enjoy the sunshine some more!

Happy Monday!
