The end of summer is here…
From the moment August rolled in, I’ve been in denial about that cool breeze that comes upon us and adds a little chill to the air. This past week, Montreal had a rude awakening when the days became blazer worthy and the evenings had a near zero type of chill.
Now, as lovely and amazing as it is to have hot and sunny days filled with cocktails and floaties by the pool, fall has its own charm and pulls at our heart strings in many different types of ways.
Knit sweaters, for example, are the epitome of fall, that we begin to pull out very prematurely at most times. But, what if there was a summer alternative that would be perfect for now?

Pulling off a short sleeved knit, could be perfect to keep you warm on those chilly summer nights, while still feeling fresh during the warm days of late summer.

Whether its casual friday, or simply a night out at a very low key resto, pairing the knit with a pair of jeans is an easy and cool way to up your casual game.

In this instance, I paired my hot pink H&M top with my Zara culotte jeans with frayed hems for a very modern and casual look for work, that eventually turned into a night out.

To keep with the 70’s style, I threw on a pair of nude platform heels from L’Intervalle that have been worn every single week this summer. They are classic, comfy and just oh so hot!

If it’s still too warm for jeans in your neck of the woods, and you want to rock the knit look, how about pairing a top with a pair of shorts?

I partially tucked this blush H&M knit top into a black pair of Zara shorts to run around town in.

The look is comfortable enough to spend the day running errands in, yet looks sexy and feminine with the exposed shoulder.

To pull everything together, I threw on a pair of heels, as I didn’t want everything to seem overly slouchy. This beautiful pair of Jessica Simpson lace up heels I found at Macys in NYC many years ago have served me tremendously well, so I refuse to throw them out, although they have seen better days.

Another option to throwing in knits for summer would be to add an additional layer on top of a dress.

This Zara jean dress is light, and perfect for summer, but on chilly days, throwing on a long sweater is a perfect add on.

The short sleeve Zara knit has open stitching for breathability, but is warm enough for cool August evenings.

Whether pairing a knit on top of your outfit, or making it the focal point of your look, there is plenty of options to curating your ootds during your last days of summer. August and September are beautiful months that we should all take advantage of, so that we can make the most of what’s left.
I hope you all have a lovely week!
