For those of you who’ve been on the dresses as tops bandwagon, you’re already aware of the potential that this outfit combo can have, especially in the fall/winter seasons.
Whether it be a sweater dress, or something slightly fancier, adding a pair of pants under a dress can make a pair of dress pants look more casual, or dress up a pair of jeans in no time flat.
Yesterday, while running from one end of the island to the other, I opted to do just that by starting my day off in a dress, and then adding jeans to finish it off at the end.
While the sun was out, the weather was just warm enough to quickly strut my stuff with bare legs, so I dressed up in the beautiful, off the shoulder number I bought at Zara last spring (they are out of the black version, but i’ve linked the green one which is still available).
Seeing as there was not much walking involved, I paired the black dress with a pair of snake skin pumps that I got myself as a birthday gift from L’intervalle.
In addition, with the chilly winds, protecting the shoulders was imperative, so I added a Dynamite faux leather moto jacket to the mix and was ready to run out of the house.
Once the sun started to go down, and the shade made the air a little cooler, I slipped into my fav cropped jeans from Dynamite.
Now, if I’m to be completely honest with you, I’ve gained a tremendous amount of weight this past 2 years. All of it is in part because of health reasons, but also in part because of many other varying factors. I’m sharing this little tidbit of info to explain how much I love these jeans. I had a pair of the same jeans… and I no longer fit in them. Seeing as Dynamite still had them on sale, I was able to buy a replacement pair and regain my love for these jeans now that I have a new pair in my closet again!!
By simply adding a pair of jeans into my purse, I was able to completely change my outfit while still staying warm and chic.
Do you have any outfit combos that you always turn to in the fall?
Happy October!!!
