This past year, we’ve seen a resurgence in 90s style branding on clothing. I for one am very nostalgic of that time in my life, so naturally, I jumped right into the trend.
Last year, I found myself a beautiful blush Puma bodycon dress on ASOS. Seeing as this dress is unfortunately no longer available, I have linked an alternative option in black for you.
Now, what I love about this dress is that it can be very casual with mesh sleeves, a white Puma band on the edge of each sleeve and a big bold black logo on the chest.
As I was going to a surprise party, this kind of casual was not the look that I was going for, so to hide all of the “over casual” evidence, I added a Dynamite Clothing grey blazer . The blazer not only brought the dress onto a more classy side by hiding all of the logos, but it also allowed me to stay warm, and feel more comfortable by hiding any imperfections that may show in a bodycon dress (because i’m not a model and do have some parts i’m still learning to love).
With the weather being warm enough, instead of wearing tights, I opted to go bare legged, and throw on a pair of Public Desire patent sock boots. The sock boots looked cute, kept some edge to the outfit while still keeping everything chic.
Finally, seeing as I was on the sporty theme in my look, I chose to accessorize with a Calvin Klein mini backpack, for yet another 90s throwback. Because I found my bag at Winners Canada, I’m unable to link it for you, but how about this bag as an alternative?
If a backpack really isn’t your thing, but you would like to find an out of the ordinary bag to wear with this look, you can also opt for a newer, more modern version of a fanny pack, such as this.
The best part of this outfit was the fact that I stood on my feet most of the evening, without sore feet. I also had enough layers to keep me warm with these chillier nights, which is a major win in my mind!
How do you feel about this outfit? Is this something you would reproduce?
I hope you all have an amazing week!
