Although most people like to keep their clothing selection at a casual and extremely comfortable level while at work between Christmas and New Years, I tend to enjoy mixing it up a bit to avoid starting my year off in a rut.
Something about the holidays, whether at work or around family, makes me want to look chic without letting the excess of food get to me.
So this past week, I did just that with a few cute outfits, such as the below.
For my first outfit choice, I dug through my closet to find my old Dynamite boyfriend blazer. I have always had this obsession with adding a blazer over a cute tank top. Its a very simple, classic look that can never go wrong. Add a shiny rose gold H&M tank top underneath and ta-da! Festive here we come! This one pop of color makes a whole lot of difference when the rest of the outfit is black on black.
If you’ve read one of my articles from a few weeks ago, you will notice that the above OOTD brings back the trend of layering a summer piece for a winter look! On top of a pair of Dynamite black leggings and a simple white blouse that my sister gifted me, I added a sleeveless summer dress, and slipped on my Public Desire grey velvet pumps. For some reason, this look made me feel so professional and productive, that it will most definitely be on repeat in the near future.
Now, seeing as I did want to keep a little bit of casual in my cute, I decided that Friday, the day after our snow day, was going to be a little more comfortable. I chose to go with my “duck blue” oversized Zara sweater on top of a pair of black moto pants from Dynamite, and a pair of black booties. The warmth and level of comfort that this top brings was the perfect choice for how I wanted to feel while at the office on that day.
Our holidays are so short so I’m definitely trying to take advantage of the peaceful and joyful time by feeling good, and enjoying every moment possible.
I hope you are doing the same and will all be ringing in the New Year in style with your family and friends!
