For those who have read my last post, you know exactly how fed up I am of this freezing cold that we have been enduring for the last couple of weeks in Montreal. Although I am disappointed that I am not already transitioning to lighter coats and a new set of outdoor booties, I still am mentally keeping abreast of the spring trends that I’m a fan of, and that I will be ready to sport as soon a the cold moves on.
This week, instead of my usual rambling about my outfit and its circumstances, I’m taking the time to walk you through my observation of the most wearable spring trends of 2017, along with a few suggestions of affordable pieces to buy to help complete the look you want to achieve. To make life easy, I’ve also included the direct link to the item depicted in the image so that you can shop for your loves if you choose. Enjoy!
Stripes
I have noticed that this spring, one of the HUGE staple looks is stripes. Whether banker stripes or sailor stripes, its time to pull out your favorite dress shirts, knits and shirt dresses and rock the office with these looks. Here are some of my favorite pieces out there right now:
Zara
Zara V-neck sweater with bow
H&M
Florals
Spring is typically associated with florals, but this year, the trend takes on a whole new vibe by incorporating the blooms into shoes and coats, creating an all over look or by replacing flowers with palm leaves for a more beach type of vibe. See a few options below:
ASOS
ASOS Off the shoulder flower dress
ASOS True Violet Grid Floral Dress
Zara
Zara Semi Sheer Printed Floral Top
Zara T Shirt with embroidered shoulders
Public Desire
Public Desire Embroidered Block Heel Mules
Public Desire Floral Velvet booties
Pearls
The trend of embroidering pearls into clothing and hair came about somewhat unexpectedly, but really makes any simple shirt or pair of pants look amazing regardless. If florals are too drastic for you, this may be the alternative trend you will fall in love with, as it channels class, elegance and a more delicate and neutral side to life. I personally, found myself jumping into this lovely spring trend unexpectedly when I found a sheer top that had little pearls sewn throughout the front. Stay tuned for a future post to see exactly which shirt I am referring to, but for now, enjoy shopping through the pretty pieces that I have found just for you.
Zara
Zara Double Breasted Blazer with Pearly Beads
ASOS
ASOS Pearl shift mini dress with fluted sleeves
Cinched in waists
Whether it is by using a belt, a corset or simply a bustier top, this season’s trend of cinching in the waist is all over the place at the moment.
Zara
Zara top with ties at the waist
Zara trousers with frilled waist
Yellow & Pink
Finally, the last trends that I will mention in here are less focused around the print and detailing, and more focused on the actual shade of the clothing. Although pink and blush tones have been at the forefront for about a year now, yellow is coming back with a bang in its mustard hues and sunny dispositions.
Zara
Zara cropped trousers with a side tie
Zara midi skirt with sleeve detail
Zara poplin top with pleated sleeves
ASOS
ASOS cross back scuba pephem dress
Obviously, all of the above are only a narrow selection of what there is out there, but hopefully, it does give you all ideas as to how you can also take part in the trends without worrying about breaking the bank or buying a piece that may be less versatile.
Please feel free to give me your feedback on this article as well as my picks for the top trends of Spring 2017, and if there were any other trends that you would have preferred seeing on here.
I hope to hear from you soon and that you have a really amazing weekend!
